Daiichi 7131 Double Salmon Black

Using two hooks in one lure is an effective technique for catching more fish! This double hook is made from a single piece of wire that is doubled back in the shank and brazed together. The wire diameter and shape of this hook are characteristic of a "low water" style salmon hook. While this is a traditional hook for salmon, some salmon fisheries have restrictions on the use of double hooks. As a fishing tool, double hooks are heavier than a similarly sized single hook, and the two hooks, which bend at 90 degrees to each other, are often referred to as effective "keels" for certain flies, helping them to stay upright.
